Created on the reverse of existing works, Beneath explores what carries us unseen. Through layers of writing and gesture, these works reflect on resilience, transformation and renewal. What once stood behind the work becomes the work itself.

Through stitched threads, layered inks and raw surfaces, Holding explores repair, connection and vulnerability. Each mark and stitch becomes a quiet reflection on the stories, scars and emotions we carry within us.

Each vessel carries a story, a memory, an energy. Layered with gestures and fragments of text, these forms hold what cannot always be spoken. The words are not intended to be read, but felt quietly, inviting reflection on what we carry within us and what remains beneath the surface.

Repetition explores the words and phrases that loop through our minds. Through recurring text and graphic mark making, these works reflect on internal dialogue, lingering thoughts and the noise we struggle to silence.

Painted on the floor through movement, rhythm and gesture, Resonance captures the energy exchanged between body, surface and mark. Layers of colour and writing become traces of a moment felt rather than recorded.

Each commission begins with connection. Whether responding to a person and their story or to a space and its atmosphere, the process is rooted in listening and presence. The intention is to move beneath the surface, to get under the skin of what is shared or what is felt, revealing vulnerabilities, tensions, and the quiet core that gives the work meaning. Without this connection, the piece would remain empty and unresolved.
